Constitution day used to be a day in September where we celebrated the United States Constitution and all the Rights and Freedoms we enjoyed because of it.

How does the “Writ of Habeas Corpus” relate to asking, When is Constitution Day?
In a BBC News article from March 9, 2005, Habeas Corpus is explained:
“Habeas corpus (ad subjiciendum) is Latin for "you may have the body" (subject to examination). It is a writ which requires a person detained by the authorities be brought before a court of law so that the legality of the detention may be examined.
The name is taken from the opening words of the writ in medieval times. Although rarely used nowadays, it can theoretically be demanded by anyone who believes they are unlawfully detained and it is issued by a judge.
“It does not determine guilt or innocence, merely whether the person is legally imprisoned. It may also be writ against a private individual detaining another. If the charge is considered to be valid, the person must submit to trial but if not, the person goes free. The Habeas Corpus Act passed by Parliament in 1679 guaranteed this right in law, although its origins go back much further, probably to Anglo-Saxon times.”

WHEN IS CONSTITUTION DAY: SUPREME COURT RULED ON IMPORTANCE OF HABEAS CORPUS
In Brown v. Vasquez, 952 F.2d 1164, 1166 (9th Cir. 1991), cert. denied, 112 S.Ct. 1778 (1992), the court observed that the Supreme Court has “recognized the fact that the writ of habeas corpus is the fundamental instrument for safeguarding individual freedom against arbitrary and lawless state action.”

Why is this all so important in regards to the Military Commissions Act of 2006?
This act, also called the Torture Bill, makes anyone trying to question Bush and those in league with him punishable by imprisonment, torture, and, possibly death. The bill permanently abolishes Habeas Corpus.

Another problem lies in the question of, who is an “enemy combatant”? The biased media is telling Americans that enemy combatants subject to this bill are only foreigners.

As you ask when is Constitution day, consider Subsection 4(b) (26) of section 950v as quoted from the Torture Bill article I’ve linked to earlier in this article:
“‘Any person subject to this chapter who, in breach of an allegiance or duty to the United States, knowingly and intentionally aids an enemy of the United States, or one of the co-belligerents of the enemy, shall be punished as a military commission under this chapter may direct.’
“For an individual to hold an allegiance or duty to the United States they need to be a citizen of the United States. Why would a foreign terrorist have any allegiance to the United States to breach in the first place? This is another telltale facet that proves the bill applies to U.S. citizens and includes them under the ‘enemy combatant’ designation.”
WHEN IS CONSTITUTION DAY: JAILED WITHOUT TRIAL
From Yale law Professor Bruce Ackerman, “The compromise legislation....authorizes the president to seize American citizens as enemy combatants, even if they have never left the United States. And once thrown into military prison, they cannot expect a trial by their peers or any other of the normal protections of the Bill of Rights.”
Asking when is Constitution day seems a bit ominous at this point, doesn’t it? If you’re not protected under the Bill of Rights anymore, what Constitution do we have to celebrate anyway?

The Military Commission Act of 2006 piggy-backs on the PATRIOT ACT that millions of Americans have ignored. When your government told you the PATRIOT ACT was to only be used against terrorists, not American citizens, it lied to you. The PATRIOT ACT is being used against U.S. citizens.

WHEN IS CONSTITUTION DAY: GOOD-BYE BILL OF RIGHTS
If you’re jailed for speaking out against Bush and the government, writing about it in a newspaper or on the Internet, or from joining a peaceful demonstration, then we’ve done away with our 1st Amendment rights.
While in a military prison, most likely they won’t let you keep your trusty revolver or shotgun with you, so say goodbye to Amendment #2.
Obviously, while you’re in military prison and being tortured, your rights against unlawful seizures and searches are gone. According to your President, you’re probably in that prison precisely because they arrested you without probable cause! Say goodbye to your 4th Amendment rights.
Say goodbye to Amendments five and six because due process, right to council, or trial went the way of Habeas Corpus as already discussed.
Actually, the only Amendment (of the 10 Bill of Rights) you have left is #3. Why would they have any interest in forcibly sending soldiers into your home? They’ve already got you!
When is Constitution day again? Oh, yeah, there’s no Constitution anymore, let alone a day for it.
WHEN IS CONSTITUTION DAY: WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
This is all part of the New World Order movement. As you’ll see in the following North American Union warning video from Stan Jones, the Montana Libertarian running for the Senate, this is not conspiracy theory delusion (the National ID card he refers to will be implemented in May 2008, not 2000).
