When Conceptualizing Federal Democracy, We see That Our Once Proud Republic Has Been Reduced to Rubble in Democracy Lies.
Let’s take a look into conceptualizing federal democracy in terms of America’s disturbing transition from a Republic into a democracy.
The first thing to understand is that you’ve been taught that America is a democracy and this just isn’t true.
It’s true from the fact that we’ve been turned into one, but our founding fathers set America up to be a Republic.
There’s a big difference between a democracy and a Republic. Understanding this difference is the first step in conceptualizing federal democracy.
This article is intended to educate you on this difference as well as introducing the importance (and current abuses) of the Grand Jury. My intent, also, is to point out how our current federal democracy is a totalitarian democracy.
CONCEPTUALIZING FEDERAL DEMOCRACY: A REPUBLIC OR DEMOCRACY?
James Madison gets us started conceptualizing federal democracy in explaining the difference between a democracy and a Republic:
- “The true distinction between these forms… is, that in a democracy, the people meet and exercise the government in person; in a Republic they assemble and administer it by their representatives and agents. A democracy consequently will be
confined to a small spot. A Republic may be extended over a large region.”

In a Republic, you have natural, God-given rights. The natural rights of the minority are protected by the Bill of Rights from majority “mob rule”. In a jury trial, just one dissenting juror can prevent you from being deprived of your rights.
In a democracy, the majority rule. Instead of natural rights, you have civil rights bestowed upon you as a “privilege” granted by the majority. If the majority, on any whim, decides to vote 51%-49% in favor of taking away any of your unalienable rights, so be it. A democracy is a dictatorship of the majority.
When conceptualizing federal democracy in America today, understand that in the Republic set up by our founding fathers, you are sovereign. The government serves you. You have no obligation to the government.

This attempt at conceptualizing federal democracy becomes quite scary as we begin to document our current state of government.
CONCEPTUALIZING FEDERAL DEMOCRACY: THREE VOTE SYSTEM
Conceptualizing federal democracy we live with today means first understanding the “checks” against tyranny our Republic came with originally:

A democracy is dangerous because it is a one-vote system as opposed to a Republic, which is a three-vote system: Three votes to check tyranny… Americans have not been informed of their other two votes:”

What’s a Grand Jury?
- “In general, the primary purpose of the grand jury is to inquire into the commission of crimes within its jurisdiction and then determine whether an indictment should issue against any particular person. The grand jury consists of a body of laypeople who are summoned to the courthouse to fulfill their civic duty. In most jurisdictions the process by which grand jurors are summoned is no different from the procedure by which trial jurors are called to serve—their names are drawn from voter lists and motor vehicle license lists.”

In light of the above Minneapolis Star Tribune quote, the following quote from A Grand Facade: How the Grand Jury Was Captured by Government brings up a curious question:
- “The prosecutor decides what matters will be investigated, what subpoenas will issue, which witnesses will testify, which witnesses will receive ‘immunity,’… Because defense counsel are barred from the grand jury room and because there is no judge overseeing the process, the grand jurors naturally defer to the prosecutor since he is the most knowledgeable official on the scene.”
Hmmm. If the Grand Jury process was initially set up to protect us against the government and its prosecutors, isn’t it disturbing that the whole process is now dominated by those very same prosecutors?
Conceptualizing federal democracy takes on an ominous tone when we realize that a rogue group of criminals inside our government has taken away our three votes against tyranny.
