There’s a book available called the Complete Idiot's Guide to the Federal Reserve.
This article is specifically designed to rebut the content and propaganda of that book.
We haven’t read the book and don’t need to. All it took was a visit to Amazon and a peak at the “Search Inside This Book” option.
On the 4th page of the “excerpt” option, we find the following:
“Although it is a federal government agency, it operates with considerably more independence than any other federal entity.”
That’s all we need to know that the authors of the Complete Idiot's Guide to the Federal Reserve are propaganda patsies.
Quite a claim, isn’t it? It sure is and we will proceed to back it up.

Let’s put to sleep right now any notion that the Federal Reserve is a government agency. In 1982, Ninth Circuit court case of LEWIS v. UNITED STATES, 680 F.2d 1239 ruled that the Federal Reserve Bank is a privately owned corporation.

Why didn’t the authors of the Complete Idiot's Guide to the Federal Reserve look this up and report on it?

Curiously, the table of contents of the Complete Idiot's Guide to the Federal Reserve doesn’t include any mention of Jeckyll Island. This should be the very first chapter as Jekyll Island is where the Federal Reserve was originated.
Consider the following quote from Edward Griffin in his “The Creature From Jekyll Island” speech:
